What Clearie is
An independent estimator for the duties, taxes and fees Jamaica Customs charges on an imported motor vehicle, whether a dealer brings it in or you do. It is not affiliated with the Jamaica Customs Agency, the Trade Board or any exporter, and it does not sell vehicles or brokerage.
How the estimate is built
Customs values the vehicle at its CIF price converted to Jamaican dollars, then stacks the charges in a fixed order. Import duty is applied to CIF. Special consumption tax is applied to CIF plus import duty. GCT is applied to CIF plus duty plus SCT. The 0.5% environmental levy is applied to CIF, and the flat Customs Administrative Fee is added last. Clearie does exactly that, with the rate for each band taken from the published sheet. What it deliberately leaves out
Broker fees, wharfage, trucking, registration, licensing, fitness and insurance all vary by port, vehicle and provider, so Clearie names them in the import guide rather than guessing numbers. The exchange rate is editable for the same reason: customs uses the Bank of Jamaica rate on the day of clearance, which nobody knows in advance.

Rates change by ministerial order and page layouts on exporter sites change without notice. If a band looks wrong, compare it with the published sheet linked below.
